| STRAWBERRY SWEETHEARTS RECIPE
Strawberry Sweethearts (Serves 2)
75g plain flour
50g unsalted softened butter
25g caster sugar
5 tbsp double cream
2 tbsp ready made custard
175 sliced strawberries
icing sugar to dust
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees celcius / 375 degrees farenheit / Gas 5
Line a baking sheet with non stick paper.
Place the flour in the bowl, cut the butter into small pieces and rub in together until it forms a soft dough.
When the dough is ready, rool out thinly on a floured surface.
Using a 9cm heart shaped cutter, cut out six slices and place on the baking sheet.
With the 4cm heart shaped cutter cut out the center of 2 of the hearts.
Bake in the oven for 5-8 minutes until browned and allow to cool.
Place the cream and the custard in a bowl and whip them until they turn thick.
Spread 4 plain heart biscuits with a layer of custard cream and arrange strawberry slices evenly over them.
Stack 2 heart shapes together and place on a serving plate.
Place the heart with cut out middle on top.
Dust with some icing sugar.
