| COTTAGE PEARS RECIPE
Cottage Pears (Serves 4-8)
4 ripe dessert pears
juice of half a lemon
225g cottage cheese
25g chopped walnuts
salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 celery stalks cut into 2.5cm. pieces
1 coarsely grated carrot
some chopped watercress leaves
Cut the pears in half lengthwise but do not peel them.
Remove the cores, add brush the pears immediately with lemon juice to prevent discolouring.
Put cottage chees and walnuts in a bowl, mix well and add salt and pepper to taste.
Fill the pears with this cheese mixture.
Mix together the celery, carrot and watercress and spread on individual plates.
Place the pear halves on top and serve immediately.
